Safety & Guidelines

We want to ensure that you enjoy your new Willowscent candles & wax melts. Please ensure you are follow the safety guidelines below and in accordance with safety regulations our candles and melts come with CLP & Safety Labels

We have tested all our products for safety and burn time by burning them extensively.

Scented Wax Melts

Wax melts should only be used in appropriate wax melt burners. The amount of wax melt required will depend on the size of the well/dish on your warmer.

Add one piece of the wax melt pack at a time until the required melted wax fill is reached.

Use good quality unscented tea lights only.

If the wax pool looks likely to overflow, carefully extinguish the burner’s flame (tealight) and allow wax to cool and solidify before carefully removing some wax.

The container/body of wax warmers will become very hot during use. Never touch a burning warmer. Now sit back, relax and enjoy our lovely blends that that fill your room space with beautiful aromas.

We recommend burning wax melts for 1-2 hours depending on personal preference. Prolonged heating will burn away much of the scent.

We advise burning no longer than 3-4 hours at the most. Then carefully extinguish the warmer’s tea light to allow everything to cool down.

When finished, and warmer has cooled clean your warmer. Regularly check your warmer for any damage.

Scented Candles

WICK

To get the most out of our Scented Candles, follow these simple steps:

  • Trim the wick to no more than 5mm
  • Let the candle burn for approx 2-3 hours the first time you light it.
  • Once your candle has reached its full burning pool, it is recommended burning your candle for no longer than 4 hours.
  • Remember to trim the wick between burns to get the most out of your candle (flame must be extinguished & candle must be cooled completely)

On occasion you may see the wick split or fall to one side, keep it trimmed to help it burn cleaner.

BURNING

Candles burn best in still air, try and avoid a candle in a draught as it may start to smoke or push the flame to one side, creating an uneven burn.

Open flames require caution, so be sure to place your candle on a heat resistant surface away from draughts, other heat sources and anything flammable. Keep the candles well out of the reach of children, vulnerable persons and animals. Never leave a burning candle unattended and always extinguish the flame completely.

** Please note that candles are not intended to be burned for more than four hours at any one time. It’s time to replace your candle when you only have 1cm of wax left.

AFTER CARE

Always use a wick snuffer or a spoon to put your candle out, it’s much safer. You want to avoid blowing them out, as this can send sparks and hot wax flying and the wick may continue to glow and emit smoke.

Double-check your candle is extinguished, before leaving it unattended.

Allow the candle wax to cool completely before moving it. The glass may still be hot long after so be careful.
